Famagusta district has become the first tourist destination in Cyprus to launch an intelligent artificial intelligence digital assistant.

The Famagusta Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), with support from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, announced it is taking another step towards innovation by introducing an AI digital assistant for tourism—a tool that guides, informs and supports every visitor easily and immediately.

The intelligent assistant, developed by RevitUp, is available through the official website visitfamagusta.com.cy and directly at ai.visitfamagusta.com.cy.

According to ETAP Famagusta, artificial intelligence is changing the way travellers discover a destination. “From ‘smartphones’ and ‘smart devices’, we now move to intelligence—the ability of a digital assistant to understand, learn and adapt to each visitor’s needs, offering a truly personalised experience”.

The Famagusta district digital assistant provides reliable real-time information from the destination rather than simply from the internet, suggests activities, attractions, beaches, events and routes based on preferences, offers practical advice such as museum opening hours, transport and directions via Google Maps, and supports 194 languages whilst functioning as a personal guide around the clock.

ETAP Famagusta represents an example of digital transformation for tourism in Cyprus, the company said in a statement.

With this initiative, the visitor experience is modernised, and Famagusta is positioned at the forefront of innovation in Cypriot tourism.

The statement noted that an official website, a mobile application and 360-degree virtual tours of landmarks across the district are already operating and available to visitors, with the AI digital assistant now launching.

The AI digital assistant can be accessed at ai.visitfamagusta.com.cy.
