A Cloudflare problem brought down X, ChatGPT and numerous websites on Tuesday (18/11), leaving thousands of users worldwide unable to access their accounts.
Visitors to sites including X, formerly known as Twitter, ChatGPT, film review site Letterboxd and other websites saw an error message indicating that Cloudflare problems meant the page could not be displayed.
Cloudflare is an internet infrastructure company that provides many of the core technologies powering online platforms. This includes tools that protect websites from cyberattacks and ensure they remain online amid heavy traffic.
“Cloudflare is aware of and investigating an issue that may be impacting multiple customers,” the company said in a new update. “More details will be provided as more information becomes available”.
Cloudflare provides its internet infrastructure services to companies worldwide, typically in a way that is invisible to users. As a result, a wide range of seemingly unrelated websites went down due to the problem.
Additionally, many websites and news sites in Cyprus are either down or functioning poorly.
