GeSY software crashes for second day as flu season peaks

Doctors, pharmacists and patients are in despair as the General Healthcare System’s (GHS/ GeSY) software crashed for a second consecutive day, making it nearly impossible to process prescriptions.

The breakdown comes at the worst possible time. Seasonal infections are surging and demand for healthcare is higher than usual.

Doctors and pharmacists told philenews that serving patients “has become the most difficult matter” as the system failures continue.

Citizens face a difficult situation when they go to pharmacies to fill their prescriptions—if their doctor managed to write one in the first place. In some cases, pharmacists are forced to ask patients to leave and come back later.

The system has been malfunctioning since this morning, with prescription entry and execution nearly impossible.
